• Celebrating 2014 with Reminders Towards a Conscious and Joyful Life

    Wishing a very happy New Year to all our friends and family at IMU. Thank you for making 2013 a great year, and we look forward to celebrating 2014 with all of you!

    We have a great line-up of special events in store for the start of the year, including the return of Swami Prem Aamod and his Kirtan Chant Drum Dance Event on January 25, a special workshop on January 26 (and February 8) where Chef Cynthia Nirel Chico will teach us how to make raw vegan treats for your sweetheart (or yourself) this Valentine’s Day, and a fabulous interactive workshop where you can learn more about yourself through uncovering your past lives on January 30.

    Coming this spring, you won’t want to miss our amazing all-day Wellness Day on March 22 including yoga, Tai Chi, self-hypnosis, Ayurvedic cooking, juicing and more! We hope to see you at one of these events, or any of the other great classes and workshops we have going on.

    A Calendar of Reminders Towards a Conscious & Joyful Life in 2014

    As a big thank you for making IMU a part of your lives, we made a special 2014 calendar for you to download and print.

    Each month of the calendar contains a “reminder” from mystic and IMU initiator, Bhashkar Perinchery. You can use each of them as a mini-meditation, for they provide a concise and practical thought to consider and work with as a step towards a direct understanding and a deeper experience of reality. They can be practiced easily and playfully in day-to-day life without much additional time or effort, and will help you attune to the quietness and joy within yourself.

    To maximize the benefit of working with the reminders, we suggest you use them in the following way:

    • Each day for the current month, read through the reminder corresponding to that month carefully
    • Read through the words with total attention and direct your awareness inward for several minutes as you feel the impact of this reminder
    • Gently stay with whatever arises and allow it to work on you
    • Then, without judgment, release the reminder, but continue to notice how the impact of this connection to your essential self continues to resonate with you throughout your day

    When you use these reminders over the course of a year, it becomes possible to gain deeper insight and clarity resulting in a quality of relaxation and joy. As you experiment with these reminders, you will realize how they open a world of new insights and understanding, helping you to be in touch with a deeper potential and beauty in yourself and others.
